The Jain and Buddhist caves of Ajanta and Ellora in Maharashtra have a special significance as they depict the entire works of Buddha and Lord Mahaveer. The Buddhist temples of Himachal Pradesh, Bodhgaya in Bihar and the stupa of Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh are of great significance for both Hinyana and Mahayana Buddhists. Beautiful Jain temples are present in Girnar and Palitana in Gujrat, Mount Abu in Rajasthan, Shravanbelgola in Karnataka and of course Sammed Shikhar is one of the most important places of Jain worship.
